Woon Presents 4 Year Anniversary Party

Graphic promoting a food event

Umm….what? Yeah, we made it to 4 years. Crazy, right? Today was actually our real birthday, but we’re going to celebrate it on Saturday, March 18th from 5-9pm. We like to party so we’re bringing our friends to help support. We will be serving a limited menu of Beef Noodles, Veggie Noodles, Mama’s 5 Spice Chicken Wings and Sapporo + wine deals all night. Our friends from La Morra Pizzeria will also be taking over the parking lot to serve their wood fired pizzas while the Fat + Flour truck will be parked out front to satisfy any dessert cravings. Homage Brewing will be on site to keep us lubricated with their amazing beers! Last, but not least…we will be hosting a karaoke party on the patio all night. Add your name to the list and sing a song!

See you there :)

Woon presents Chinese New Year

A graphic promoting a chinese new year event

Woon presents a weekend of Chinese New Year celebrations from Friday, January 20th - Sunday, January 22nd! Come celebrate the year of the rabbit with some fun activities and specials including:

~ Red Envelope Roulette (dine-in only). Receive a red envelope with purchase and get a chance to win prizes..all of them include a treat, some bigger than others (1 envelope per party)

~ Stir Fried Rice Cakes 炒年糕 - Mama Fong makes these every Chinese New Year and the Chinese name literally translates to “tall year” to represent growth. The soft and chewy rice cakes are addictingly chewy and the wok hei adds the perfect sear. Vegan option available!

~ Pan Fried Pork Dumplings and Chinese Chive Moneybags 韭菜包 - These hand pies represent “money bags” to represent wealth and prosperity. They are filled with a traditional filling of chives, shiitake mushrooms, mung bean vermicelli, and scrambled egg.

~ Black Sesame Glutinous Rice Balls 汤圆 - These are made In-house and are served as a pair to represent wholeness, togetherness and fertility. Many versions exist but ours are served in its most traditional form – filled with decadent black sesame paste and served with a brown sugar ginger-osmanthus broth.

While supplies last.

Now Open 7 Nights!

A graphic promoting being open for seven days a week

This is not an easy task, but we are going to open 7 nights a week starting next Monday, January 9th. This will be the first time that Woon has opened this many days, so bear with us. It’s a struggle in terms of management, staffing and operations. BUT, it’s time that we give it a shot.

Woon was originally open for lunch and dinner 6 days a week. Then COVID forced us to limit our hours to 5 nights a week. Over time, our volume got so high during those dinner hours that it seemed impossible to expand back our hours. However, operating solely 5 nights a week as a restaurant is not sustainable as a restaurant that offers health benefits and better wages. The only way to make it sustainable is to expand our hours. Also, you can now have woon any day of the week. We won’t have to turn down disappointed customers on Mondays and Tuesday anymore!

Woon Productions, Special Delivery

Special Delivery for Salamat Ceramics

Woon Productions presents the fourth episode in our series titled, Special Delivery, documenting the interesting subjects from our Woon community who contribute to make Woon what it is today.

In this episode, we spend some time with our long-time friend and ceramicist, Monica Galan of Salamat Ceramics. We visit Monica at her studio, Actual Studio Space, in Los Angeles where we pick her brain about ceramics and how our new collaboration Mama's Way bottle came about. We also dive into where she started and where she's at now, which is very inspiring.

Monica has been our friend well beyond Woon, but she actually made the tabletop utensil vessels that still live in Woon today. We also collaborated on some bowls during the pandemic. And she also worked at Woon for a period of time. These episodes are all about our Woon family...and Monica is more than part of it. We hope you enjoy!

Sanditas Congee Pop Up Photos

Food on a table

Sometimes we work with people that automatically feel like family….and that’s how it is everytime with the ladies from Sanditas! It’s always a blast hosting them in our space. On top of that, it helps to have such beautiful and comforting food provided by Sandy. This was hands down the best congee I’ve ever had, and there was a Butter Cake to top it all off. What more could you ask for on a chilly night?
