Woon Tunes Vol. 07 by Julian Klincewicz

Julian Klincewicz

Woon Tunes Volume 07 brought to you by the multi-talented director, filmmaker, photographer, artist, musician, skater and not sure what else….Julian Klincewicz. You have most definitely seen his recent work collaborating with big names such as Beyonce, Jay Z, Kanye, Virgil Abloh, Louis Vuitton, Vans, Nike, Haerts band, and also his personal projects Mimosa Piduca and Swish Projects. I first encountered Julian skating and playing shows in San Diego at the ripe age of 16. There’s no stopping this kid from taking over the world…and we are honored to have him put together a playlist inspired by “living in LA”. Next time say hi when you see him eating noods and drinking Royal Milk Teas at Woon.

A man standing outside of a restaurant

We recently caught up with our friends at Japanese / Australian clothing label - Banks Journal. In addition to curating a playlist for their “Journal Jams” series we had a conversation and took them along for a day in the life of a restaurant owner. We stopped by our favorite restaurant supply shop in San Gabriel Valley, swung by the house, and then finished the day to prep some things at Woon. Click over to listen to the playlist, read an interview, and scroll through some photos taken by Jeremy Knies.

“Music is a big part of my life and doesn’t stop playing at Woon - to the point where we are pretty sick of our ever growing playlist. I dragged over the songs that are still pretty fresh to me or that I will never get sick of. It’s a pretty good reflection of the range of music we listen to on the daily: great for waking up to, a beach day, a long drive, or making dinner at home. Hope you enjoy!!”

Woon Tunes Vol. 05 by Chelsea Mak

Chelsea Mak

Woon Tunes Vol. 5 is brought to you by my talented friend and designer, Chelsea Mak. Chel and I grew up together in a small town in LA and have remained good friends as we've both started our own businesses influenced by our Chinese heritage. Her amazing womenswear line Chel Mak, is designed in Los Angeles and produced in Shanghai, where Mama Fong was born. She’s not only a talented designer but has exceptional taste in music. She once threw a collection launch / Chinese New Year party at her house and The Paranoyds played in her living room. Anyways, give it a listen now and subscribe to it on Spotify.

Woon Tunes Vol. 04 by Adam Forkner

A picture of a man

Adam Forkner lives down the street, makes cool weird music, podcasts and DJ’s. He loves to walk over to Woon to hang out, eat noodles, drink wine and joke around. When I was first building the restaurant he'd come by with carloads of strange supplies like tape, brooms, candles and tools. One time he showed up in a huge plush bunny mask and scared everyone in the kitchen (someone captured it on camera, above).

Find his podcast Clear Acrylic Thought Pattern or listen to his music as Airboy Express.
