Sam Woo Meets Woon! One Night Only October 17th

We're beyond excited to tell you about this one. On Saturday, October 17th, we're teaming up with the legendary Sam Woo BBQ for a one-night-only collaboration at Woon Filipinotown.

If you're not familiar with Sam Woo, they're one of the original Cantonese BBQ institutions in Los Angeles, and they had a huge influence on why Woon exists. We're honored to be cooking alongside them.

The menu - For one night only, we're serving:

• Duck noodle soup

• Char siu bao

• Roast pork crudo

Why this one is personal

I grew up going to high school with the Sam Woo family, so this collaboration has come full circle in a way I never expected. Our parents are meeting for the first time at this event, which feels like the perfect way to celebrate the traditional and modern sides of Chinese cooking together.

Sam Woo is one of many restaurants I grew up eating at that shaped how I think about food. Woon is our way of honoring those places and the traditions they carry, while bridging the gap to my own modern upbringing and influences. Having Sam Woo in our kitchen is the old meeting the new, and we couldn't be happier about it.

The first 200 guests will take home a set of Woon chopstick souvenirs. We're also making exclusive collaboration tees, available to buy in-store and online.
